OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A custom metal fabricator serving a variety of industries has expanded its headquarters as part of an “exciting new chapter” in the company’s history.
DeWys Metal Solutions recently completed a $5 million expansion of its main building at 15300 8th Ave. in Marne.
The expansion project, which began about a year ago and was completed in September, encompasses 10,000 square feet of new construction plus 5,000 square feet of existing renovated space. A leader in sheet metal fabrication in the Midwest, the company planned a ribbon cutting for Friday, Oct. 25.
Sales and Marketing Coordinator Hannah DeWys told MLive in an email that the expansion would help the company “continue to grow and support customer needs, provide the community with job opportunities and cohesive working spaces.”
The company employs about 300 people and plans to hire more with this recent expansion, DeWys added.

The company in November 2023 announced, “an exciting new chapter,” with the planned expansion of its Marne headquarters and the relocation of its stainless solutions division to Walker.
“DeWys has seen significant growth over the past 45 years,” President Mark Schoenborn said in a release announcing the expansions. “As the company continues to grow and expand, we are being strategic and intentional with the solutions offered to keep meeting our customers' increasing needs.”
DeWys Metal Solutions, which rebranded from DeWys Manufacturing in 2021, is a 47-year-old company specializing in custom metal fabrication, product assembly, engineering, design and more for such industries as agriculture, renewable energy, technology, retail health care and more.
The company within the past decade has entered the electric vehicle market by building metal enclosures for vehicle charging stations.
